IP2Location ActiveX/COM Component Version 3.0 is a software development component and data solution for Windows®, that enables developers to discover in real-time, where Web visitors are coming from by IP address. You can tailor the content of your site dynamically based on visitor’s country, region, city, latitude, longitude, ZIP code, ISP, domain name, time zone, connection speed, IDD code, area code, weather station code and weather station name. This component is using a fast and self-contained lookup engine for AX1 or external high-performance database for AX2-AX18. No remote query or database connection is required. It is suitable for both stand-alone application (.EXE) and Web-based application (server-side scripting) using Microsoft operating systems in 32 bit (x86) and 64 bit (x64).

General steps for installing IP2Location™ ActiveX/COM
DLL component.
1. Unzip demo package and copy component “ip2location.dll” to a directory
in the web server. Either Windows\system32\ or Winnt\system32\ directory is
recommended.
2. Register the DLL component by:
Option I
From the command prompt, navigate to the directory where you have installed
ip2location.dll and then run the command:
C:\> regsvr32
ip2location.dll
OR
Option II
Clicking on the Windows ® “Start” button, then “Run” and typing in:
regsvr32
fullpath\ip2location.dll
Make sure to replace “fullpath” with the actual full path that the
ip2location.dll resides in.
3. Right click ip2location.dll, select “Properties” and go to “Security” tab.
Add
“Read & Execute” to the Internet user account “IUSR_<machine>” |

| Limitation 1 |
|
| All unregistered versions (evaluation copies) of
IP2Location ActiveX Component applies a 5 seconds query delay. Please register
the control to get the registration code to disable the query delay. |

| Limitation 2 |
|
| The IP2Location ActiveX component works together with
IP2Location .BIN data file for AX2-AX14. An outdated version of the IP-COUNTRY data
file that supports limited IP address range is available in the setup file for
evaluation purposes. The component is working without the presence of any relational
database system such as MS-SQL or mySQL by using the .BIN data file. All
registered users can access the latest database update every month during
their subscription duration. |

| Limitation 3 |
|
| Since the IP2Location ActiveX component is
bundled with the IP-COUNTRY sample binary database, it can only
displays the country name property. If you are looking for more properties such
as region, city, coordinates, ZIP code, ISP, domain name, time zone and
connection speed, please download other sample databases from the developer section
for evaluation purposes. |

| A demo IP-COUNTRY data file containing a limited set of
IP address information is available in the setup file for evaluation purposes. You
can query all IP addresses from 0.0.0.0 to 99.255.255.255. More data files from
different packages are available for immediate download from the
developer area.
